Dr Burton Mguni

Statistician General

Dr. Burton Mguni is the  Statistician-General he joined Statistics Botswana in 2014. Dr. Mguni is a renowned academic who taught for so many years at the University of Botswana. He started as a junior lecture in 1982 and rose through the ranks to become Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) in 1999 before he left the employment of the University in 2005. Dr. Mguni  has a Bachelor’s  degree in Economics from the University of Botswana and Swaziland which he obtained in 1978, Master of Science (M.S.) Statistics from Colorado State University which he got in 1982 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Statistics from the University of Northern Colorado in the United States which he obtained in 1988.
