Mr Tapologo Benjamin Baakile is the Director of Social and Demographic Statistics. Mr Baakile joined Statistics Botswana in 2013. He started his public service career with Ministry of Health in 1988 as Assistant Maternal and Child Health Officer and later joined Ministry of Finance and Development Planning in 1997 where he progressed through the ranks until he became Director of Department of Population and Development Coordination from 2009 to 2013. Mr Baakile has wide range of qualifications which include a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics and Demography which he obtained from the University of Botswana in 1988, Graduate Certificate in Demography from Australian National University which he got 1998 and Master of Arts in Applied Population Research obtained from the University of Exeter in 1993.
